A BIG SHOUT OUT to Tanner for sharing his poem about friendship. I think Tanner’s metaphor of a tree to represent friendship is an effective one. A tree takes years to grow and mature so do friendships that are often times forged through many years of trials and tribulations. If you get a chance give Tanner some props for his poem. Authors love feedback about their writing. Any other authors out there who would like to share???

I want to end this blog by once again apologizing to Tanner for not getting his poem in Under The Mask. If we have a second addition, I’ll make sure to include his poem.

I believe Tanner has some great poetry skills. His poem on his very close friend made me ALMOST cry. He is a true poet who shows his fealings and emotions through poetry. Besides, his poems can tell a story about soemthing that went wrong, but make it still funny at the same time. Oh by the way, good job Tanner!!!!!!

Hey, I just wanted to share this poem:

    A Garden of Eve

    In my garden,
    I have
    essence of insanity
    remember-me-nots
    lion-dandies
    and
    a chocolate fountain
The Earth is made of Oreo
    and the plant food
    is soda
    That is my garden.

    Or not.
    It’s the garden of
    my mind.

This isn’t necessarily a poem, but the chorus of a song that I wrote.

How alone do I have to be
    For someone to see
That a shoulder to cry on
    is all that I need
    But I’m
    Pushed away
    Escorted out
With no one to hold me close
    Oh, can’t you see
    I just want a friend
    Oh, I just need
    A friend

I truely LOVE Courtney’s poem! It’s a sweet slow poem that shows her uniqueness and creativity. I truely reccomend this poem to be either published in a series of poems or to be published into a book. All the poems people put on this wesite should be published!

Well this is a poem I wrote, considering something that just happened recently that keeps happening to me.
    Well here it is:

    Choose One

    “Let go of him,”
    Screams my head
    “He’s worth nothing.”
“Don’t let go, hold on keep strong,”
    Screams my heart
    “He’ll come around.”
“Just go with what you want,”
    Screams my conscious
    “It’s your choice after all.”
    “Just listen for another second,”
    Screams the insanity in me
    “Maybe it’ll come to you.”
“Do what you think will hurt you less,”
Whispers the soft voice inside me undecided and unknown
“It’ll be better than the one that hurts you the most.”
You tell me which one you think is right

    “ALL OF THEM,”
    Screams the voice of ME
    “All of them.”

    Here’s another poem of mine:

A Walk in the Streets of the World

Each place I set my foot down,
Each place I hang up my hat.
I wonder what tomorrow will bring.
Whether it be fire breathing dragons
or chicken so spicy, you breathe fire.
I walk the streets of Asia,
    Europe,
    the Americas,
    Africa,
or the snowy depths of Antarctica.
Will it be the defeaning silence
    of the unending sea
or will it be the coldest , highest point
    of the world?
While I walk the streeets of the world
my feet lead me my mind astray.
    My heart sounds in
    the echoes of my feet.
My feelings are gone, left in Peru
    of Nigeria….
Where will my feet lead me next
along the streets of the world?

This is a song that I wrote, and I thought that I’d share it, because I wanted to share something and I don’t write poetry.  It’s just the first two verses and the last chorus, not the whole thing. It seems kind of incomplete without the rest, but oh well.

I Still Do - Rose Layton

    I miss you,
Stayin’ up all night, talkin’ ’bout nothing
    And I miss you
Not givin’ a care what anyone thought,
Struttin’ around like you own the world
    But you own mine.

    I love you
With your beautiful blue eyes, make me melt
    And I love you
Tellin’ me exactly what I won’t say,
    Breakin’ hearts everywhere you go
    And you broke mine

You broke me, and you hated me
You erased my dreams and tore my world to pieces
And I lashed back, ripped and stabbed at you
But all I got was a fistful of regrets
    So it’s over now…
Yeah I hate you, but I still love you
    I promise, I still do.

  8.   Tanner Call Says:

OK here is a poem that I though of as I watched the band and orchestra performance on Tuesday.

    Different Lives
    I sat in the audience
The auditorium was cool and relaxing
As the applause for the performers ended, the large blue curtain closed.
It covered the entire stage except for a gap betweeen the bottom of the curtain and the floor
As I looked around my eyes fell upon the stage
I could see the feet of people scurrying around, doing their jobs
And as I though I realized every pair of feet had an owner
And every owner had a life
A life filled with trials and tribulations
But a life filled with joy and happiness
Each owner had memories that others didn’t have
But they managed to do alright in life
That is how a person learns their thinking
    From memories, ideas, and thoughts
    From how they are raised
But they manage to do alright in life

Here is a poem I wrote a few days ago

    Weak Spots
They think you can’t see them
    They think that it’s funny
    They mean it to hurt
    You try to ignore them
    You try to avoid them
    But they always find you
    They sneer
    They tease
    They taunt
    They laugh
    You run
    You hide
    You cry
    You sob
    Until you think it’s over
And you come out, thinking it’s safe
    but they’re there
    To tear you down
    To rip apart you pride
To shred it up and throw it to the side
They attach you, just to see you cry
    And they succeeded
They are bullies, thoughts, rumors, gossip, words and enemies
    But most of all
    They are your weak spots

  10.   Someone Says:

This is a poem about a guy that tore my heart in two.

    THE ILLUSIONIST

    Because of you
    I cry at night
    Because of you
    I’ll never be whole again
    Because of you
    I’m afraid to love
    Because of you
    I can’t trust another man
    Because of you
I can’t walk the hallways without feeling insecure
    Because of you
I’ve gotten my heart crushed into a million tiny pieces
    Because of you…
    The illusionist

  11.   Mr. Bob Says:

    Here’s one for y’all.

    Stuck

    You sit and wait
    Watching the clock tick
The seconds go by like days
It seems as if you’re stuck
    Stuck in time
    Stuck in boredom
    Stuck with having to wait
    Stuck with nothing to do
    You can’t take it
    You scream from boredom
You want to rip your hair out
But you know excitement is on the way
    Soon you’ll be free
    Soon you won’t be bored
    Soon
    You’ll have something to do

  12.   Mr. Bob Says:

    Here’s a weird one.

    WEIRD

    Orange cows
    Flying monkeys
    Purple Turtles
    Yellow Pigs
    Taking Mice
    Hairy Fish
    Bouncing Cats
    Crying Owls
    Puffy Leaves
    Sticky Walks
    Oozing Sidewalks
    Leafy Men
    Crazy Women
    Fuzzy Lightbulbs
    A Slimy Neck
    WHAT THE HECK!
